Technical
In the four years I worked at Realtech on the 77th floor of the Empire State Building (from 1997 to 2001), we grew rapidly as a Cisco Gold Partner building out high-speed network communications infrastructures. I supervised a team responsible for end-to-end documentation of one client’s national roll out of a digital network, from site surveys through engineering installation materials to final as-built documentation, including AutoCAD, Visio, and Excel documents, with fast-paced deadlines. I also had to research, write, edit and publish the installation guide.
I took a challenge when I became senior editor for WDM Solutions with the Advanced Technology Division of Pennwell in 2001. By my third issue I had launched a column offering insights on technology trends and scientific breakthroughs in wavelenght division multiplexing. It became well read by industry leaders. I have an aptitude and love for technical writing about science.
My clients rely on my excellent verbal, written, team-building and problem-solving skills to produce technical marketing materials, including timely reports, brochures, product descriptions, newsletters and web-based communications. I work with groups and teams to produce documents, from beginning to end - from conception to research, interviews, meetings, writing, photography, circulating versions, editing, and careful proofreading to produce easily understood, successful - and grammatically perfect - results. I am familiar with running multiple projects in fast-paced work environments, establishing goals and then measuring quality performance against these goals. I do graphic layouts myself using Adobe Creative Suite. Plus I maintain Excel database lists and use email to help distribute results of all this work.
